Hooray for Easter and Spring Break!!! I wish everyone a safe travel to Florida (and other places that the kids have been mentioning to me) and to Grandparents, friends, and family homes.<\/p>\n

READING-Unit 9 \u00a0AMAZING CREATURES<\/strong> \u00a0 Our theme for Week 1 is\u00a0Interesting Insects.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n COMPREHENSION STRATEGY-Asking Questions<\/p>\n COMPREHENSION SKILL-Classifying and Categorize<\/p>\n SPELLING WORDS-he \u00a0she \u00a0yes \u00a0no \u00a0insects \u00a0wig \u00a0rig \u00a0big \u00a0jig \u00a0twig \u00a0<\/strong>(10 words this week)<\/p>\n WRITING-We will be generating questions<\/span> and researching for answers.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Of course, we will do our regular routine of…<\/p>\n Mon., -Introduce<\/p>\n Tues-whole group writing,<\/p>\n Wed.-Prewrite<\/p>\n Thurs.-Revise and Edit<\/p>\n Fri.,-PUBLISH WRITING and Share with Class<\/p>\n After reading a play about An Ant and The Grasshopper<\/span>\u00a0we will create a Frayer Diagram to record characters, setting, Author’s Purpose, and a favorite part of a story. \u00a0 Lots going on in here.<\/p>\n MATH-We’ll be working with\u00a0subtraction,\u00a0<\/em><\/span> using 10 Frames, and we’ll play a Math Game with our Buddies. \u00a0<\/em>Please work with\u00a0Subtraction\u00a0<\/em>at home. \u00a0Use real happenings in your home to illustrate\/use\u00a0subtraction. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n SCIENCE-We planted some seeds last week. \u00a0As SCIENTISTS, while wearing our lab coats and safety glasses, we observe our plant, check for similarities from last week, look for differences from last week, and record our observations in our Science Journal. \u00a0We date each entry, draw a picture of what we see, and write 2-3 sentences about our findings. \u00a0We are real Scientists! \u00a0I’ll post some pictures from today.<\/p>\n Again, have a Blessed Easter and Spring Break.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hooray for Easter and Spring Break!!!
