WRITING-We will be writing\u00a0Similes.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> Once they understand them, my kids enjoy writing with\u00a0similes. <\/strong>\u00a0Look for some to come home.<\/p>\n

MATH-We will continue to decompose numbers less than 10, into pairs, in more than one way. \u00a0 For example,\u00a07\u00a0<\/strong>can be decomposed (broken apart) \u00a0into\u00a03 + 4 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0 1 + 6 \u00a0<\/strong>or \u00a0\u00a00+ 7\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, make 2 groups of spoons, shoes, bracelets, paper clips,…<\/p>\n

Compare the groups as “less than, greater than, or equal to.”<\/p>\n

For example, make 2 groups of pencils.<\/p>\n

The first group has 8 pencils. \u00a0The second group has 6 pencils.<\/p>\n

The first group is\u00a0greater than<\/strong> the second group.<\/p>\n

Thirdly, practice\u00a0composing\u00a0<\/strong>numbers 11-19 using 10’s and 1’s.<\/p>\n
