READING-Week 3 of Unit 7 \u00a0How Weather Affects Us.<\/strong> \u00a0(rain, temperature changes, cloudy) \u00a0We’ll talk about\u00a0Hibernation. <\/span>Who\u00a0hibernates?<\/span>\u00a0 Why do they\u00a0hibernate?<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We’ll be reading a story about a bear who hibernates and we’ll read\u00a0The Mitten<\/span>. \u00a0On Friday we will compare and contrast the two texts.<\/span><\/p>\n WRITING-writing a chart<\/p>\n WORDS-Review Week \u00a0\u00a0and \u00a0what \u00a0this \u00a0do \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n LETTERS-Review week \u00a0B b \u00a0 \u00a0L l \u00a0 E e \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Practice the “b” \u00a0 (not “d”)<\/p>\n SPELLING WORDS-We will work with the “et”\u00a0<\/strong>chunk.<\/p>\n Here are next week’s words: \u00a0 \u00a0said \u00a0 little \u00a0 pet \u00a0get \u00a0set \u00a0net \u00a0fret \u00a0 hibernate<\/strong><\/p>\n MATH-graphing \u00a0 \u00a0 the quarter (25 cents) \u00a0Have your child count your change-pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. \u00a0Remind them to start with the largest coin first and then add on the rest. \u00a0For example, when adding up pennies, nickels, and dimes, start with the dimes (“ten, twenty, thirty” \u00a0and then add on the nickels “five, ten, fifteen” and then add on the pennies “) Practice! \u00a0Practice! \u00a0Practice! \u00a0 Count Daddy’s money, \u00a0Mom’s money, \u00a0Grandma’s money<\/p>\n As if we haven’t had a busy enough week this week with Dioramas, the 100th Day and a Snow Day, here’s some more excitement for next week. \u00a0Next week is HOWARD SCHOOL\u00a0SPIRIT WEEK<\/strong>! \u00a0A note went home on Wednesday with the details.<\/p>\n
