{"id":1364,"date":"2016-01-12T14:52:47","date_gmt":"2016-01-12T19:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=1364"},"modified":"2016-01-12T14:52:47","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T19:52:47","slug":"endangered-animals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2016\/01\/12\/endangered-animals\/","title":{"rendered":"Endangered Animals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have begun our unit about Endangered Animals. \u00a0Look what we have done in only 2 days.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we read, defined, and discussed<strong>\u00a0Extinct Animals (<\/strong>like dinosaurs and the Dodo Bird) and\u00a0<strong>Endangered Animals.\u00a0<\/strong>We talked about\u00a0<em>why\u00a0<\/em>animals become\u00a0<strong>extinct.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today we began with making a R.A.N. chart (Reading and Analyzing Nonfiction) about PANDAS.<\/p>\n<p>We wrote down our thoughts about &#8220;What We Think We Know About Pandas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then we read some information and filled in our RAN chart with<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Confirmation&#8221; (of what we know)<\/p>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Misconception&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;New Information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next, we wrote 3 sentences about PANDAS, using the information that we now had about PANDAS. \u00a0(Their sentence composition was terrific!)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we created a chart to collect information, according to different classifications.
