I hope each of you had a wonderful time during our Thanksgiving holiday. \u00a0I am truly thankful for my Howard families and staff and each of my Kindergarteners. \u00a0I am so blessed each and every day.<\/p>\n

Winter weather will be arriving soon. \u00a0Please check the weather and dress your child accordingly. \u00a0Fashion boots may be worn to school but need to be left in the hallway to dry. \u00a0Shoes are needed for the classroom…we sit a lot on the carpet and wet carpet isn’t comfortable so shoes are necessary for the classroom.<\/p>\n
December 2-6 Howard School Student Council is sponsoring a Food Drive through Gleaners Food. \u00a0(Note coming home today) Please consider sending in some can goods to support this cause. \u00a0We will keep track of our daily can count. \u00a0(good math-gotta grab those teachable moments!)<\/p>\n
November Book-It Calendars are due. \u00a0December calendars coming home tomorrow.<\/p>\n

READING-Our Theme is Food\u00a0<\/strong>and our weekly unit is\u00a0Where Food Comes From<\/strong>. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Letter:\u00a0“N \u00a0n” \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Word: \u00a0“to”<\/p>\n All groups are reading and working on different strategies for reading. \u00a0Some are working on Accuracy when they read. \u00a0Others are working on Fluency and many are working on Comprehension. \u00a0We are busy!<\/p>\n WRITING-We are returning to Informational Writing. \u00a0We will be gathering facts from our reading and writing them in complete sentences. \u00a0Students should be writing with capital letters at the beginning of sentences and punctuation at the end. \u00a0Good sentence structure!<\/p>\n MATH-We will be working on addition with a game called “Growing Train.” \u00a0After I work with them in whole group, it will be included in the Math Center. \u00a0We also will be playing “Top-IT.” \u00a0(You may remember it as “War.”) \u00a0We will end the week with Pattern Block Templates and patterns. \u00a0Lots of fun in here!<\/p>\n SOCIAL STUDIES-We will be discussing “Wants and Needs.” \u00a0(Very appropriate for this time of year.)<\/p>\n It will be another fun-filled learning week in Room 1.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I hope each of you had a wonderful time during our Thanksgiving holiday. \u00a0I am truly thankful for my Howard families and staff and each of my Kindergarteners. \u00a0I am so blessed each and every day.
