{"id":1219,"date":"2015-10-20T13:15:29","date_gmt":"2015-10-20T17:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=1219"},"modified":"2015-10-20T13:15:29","modified_gmt":"2015-10-20T17:15:29","slug":"week-of-october-19-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2015\/10\/20\/week-of-october-19-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 19-23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we start a new unit in Reading-<strong>MAKING FRIENDS<\/strong>\u00a0is our theme.<\/p>\n<p>READING-Our unit title is\u00a0<strong>LEARNING ABOUT FRIENDS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll talk about how friends can be friends and yet still like or do different things.<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-We&#8217;ll be writing sentences! \u00a0A sentence<\/p>\n<p>-has a complete thought,<\/p>\n<p>-starts with a capital letter<\/p>\n<p>-has spaces between the words<\/p>\n<p>-punctuation at the end \u00a0(. ? ! )<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WORD-\u00a0<strong>like<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LETTER-<b>S \u00a0s<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As you go out for a ride, walk, or around the house, find some things that start with\u00a0<strong>s<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Practice writing our words in different colors of crayons and markers.<\/li>\n<li>Write the words on 3&#215;5 cards and play a Memory Game. \u00a0(Write 2 sets of the words in crayons instead of markers. \u00a0Markers leak through and you can see the word from the back side.)<\/li>\n<li>Using the 3&#215;5 cards, make a sentence.<\/li>\n<li>Can you switch around the words and make a\u00a0<em>question?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Words are\u00a0<strong>I \u00a0 am \u00a0 Am \u00a0 Can \u00a0can \u00a0We \u00a0we \u00a0The \u00a0the \u00a0like \u00a0A \u00a0 a \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MATH and SCIENCE-We&#8217;ll be exploring\u00a0<strong>Attributes. \u00a0<\/strong>Size, Shape, Color, Thickness<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll also be working with Patterns All Around Us.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we start a new unit in Reading-MAKING FRIENDS\u00a0is our theme.
