We wrote them on the Promethean Board. \u00a0We circled the rhyming words. Next I had them choose 2 rhyming words (other than cat\/hat \u00a0 \u00a0cat\/mat \u00a0 \u00a0 dog\/log) and create a sentence with the 2 rhyming words. \u00a0The sentence had to make sense too. \u00a0Identifying and generating rhyming words is a component of \u00a0Foundational Skills for Reading. \u00a0Practice generating rhyming words (other than cat\/hat, etc). \u00a0Then have your child create a sentence using those 2 rhyming words. \u00a0Experiment with different words. \u00a0Here&#8217;s Sandy Dabbous&#8217; sentence&#8230;&#8221;The boy can keep the sheep.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we wrote sentences that contained two rhyming words. \u00a0Together we created several sentences.
