Yipee…I think Spring is really here! Daffodils are blooming, walkers and joggers are out and even dogs are enjoying some warmer temperatures and fresh air. \u00a0I hope that you too are enjoying our Spring.<\/p>\n
READING-Unit 9 \u00a0Week 3 \u00a0 \u00a0 Week 3 is always the review week of weeks 1 & 2. Our theme for the week is ANIMALS THEN AND NOW. \u00a0We’ll begin with dinosaurs and sea turtles. Sea Turtles were here when the Dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Dinosaurs no longer live here but Sea Turtles still exist. \u00a0Hmmm???<\/p>\n
WRITING-We’ll be using our\u00a0imaginations<\/strong> to create sentences about how dinosaurs might help us if they were still here. \u00a0To get us started, we’ll read a book titled\u00a0“If the Dinosaurs Came Back.”<\/b><\/p>\n LETTERS-Review \u00a0 X x \u00a0 \u00a0W w \u00a0 V v \u00a0 G g<\/p>\n WORDS-come \u00a0 away<\/strong><\/p>\n SPELLING-“og” chunk \u00a0 \u00a09 words this week<\/p>\n dog \u00a0jog log \u00a0smog \u00a0 frog \u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n come \u00a0away \u00a0(<\/strong>new reading words this week)<\/p>\n has \u00a0look \u00a0(<\/strong>review words from last week)<\/p>\n MATH-Clocks \u00a0 Money (coins) \u00a0and number families<\/p>\n SCIENCE-Living and Non-Living Things<\/p>\n I also hope to catch some caterpillar eggs and have the students enjoy watching the process from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly!<\/p>\n Over the next several weeks, I will be assessing the students’ reading levels. \u00a0This past week they had the district writing prompt and most did quite well. \u00a0I told them that now I have a lot of homework–I have to read and grade ALL that writing!<\/p>\n Enjoy your week.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Yipee…I think Spring is really here!
