6th Graders Reflect on Advice to 5th graders

My advice to students and parents is that O.L. smith is a safe school. The teachers at Smith are amazing. Don’t feel scared about it. Pick the right friends to be with and stay organized. Middle school is not hard, it is really fun.   Nuray R., 6th grade

My advice to parents: Don’t worry or be scared about your child going into middle school. It is super fun and the teachers are really nice. There are a lot of fun interactive things to do at Smith. Your child will love it here! Gabrielle M. 6th grade

My personal advice is that middle school has challenges, sometime, but if you give it effort, then you can get the best grades ever. Another is that never run or get in any trouble because you can get a lunch detention, normal detention, Friday dete4ntion and suspensions. And also, pick the right friends. It is not as hard t open your locker r. That is all my advice..  Adam R. 6th grade

Some advice I would give to a student is to try your hardest in every class you have. It might be a little scary for some people to come to middle school but once you’re comfortable you will have the best school year ever. And you should always make good friends.  Alisya M. 6th grade

Some advice I would give to a 5th grade student is “don’t be afraid” because the first day of school I was really nervous because I know that I was one of te4h youngest kids and I thought I would get bullied. But don’t be afraid, just be yourself and everyone will love you for that.  Sarina E. 6th grade

I think they should be well prepared with supplies and to too be scared. Personally, I like it more than elementary. To get up and move to the next class and not having to sit in one class all day.  Brendon A. 6th grade

My advice would be to have separate binders for each class and folders and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Diego I. 6th grade

I think we should tell the student that when you come to O>L> Smith middle school make sure you are ready for class. Be prepared; the teachers are nice and for the parents you don’t have to b scared because OL Smith s a great middle school, very caring and nice. Maya S. 6th grade

Think positive! Middle school is not scary. I mean there’s a lot of people but like elementary just only three grades. My advice to parents: your child will do just fine. Middle school is to be who you are and experience the journey of growing up. What I like? If you are having a hard time, the teacher will help. Mackenzie G, 6th grade

When you come to Smith, think positive because when you think positive, you’re going to e chill and not have to worry about anything. If you think negative, you’r going to be worried about all your classes and other stuff.  Brooklyn B. 6th grade

There’s nothing to worry about. Al you have to do is be positive and you will have a good school year.  Joey S. 6th grade

When I first came to middle school, I was scared about not being able to open my locker, but trust me; you’ll get the hand of it. If not, just ask a teacher they will help you. Olivia B. 6th grade

O.L.Smith is one of the funniest cheerful, calming and warm-hearted schools I have ever been to. Isabelle P. 6th grade

Some advice to middle school is you have to stay organized because it will help you get good grades and always use the planner. It really helps a lot.  Julian E. 6th grade

Don’t let anyone bring you down. Getting good grades is the only thing you should be focused on. Mina S. 6th grade

My advice to 5th graders is dot be shy. Because the teacher wants you to succeed and you will make a lot of friends. Kaden F. 6th grade

The only reason your reading this because you’re desperate for advice, admit it. But I’m telling you the truth; middle school is not always going to have a happy ending like on T.V. you only make it when you want by how you act. Oparebea H. 6th grade

My advice is don’t be scared once you get used to being in middle school, it’s pretty easy. Desmond   6th grade

Always stay positive, don’t worry, don’t be shy if you need help, and don’t be scared to ask for help. 6th grade

Pick the right friends. Alex. 6th grade

My advice will be just be positive and let nobody get to you; just be kind; be grateful and don’t be scared. 6th grade

You should be confident and always smile. Alex F 6th grade
