Kent Cooke is a national scholarship program which supports programs and causes around the world. The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a selective 5-year, pre-college scholarship for high-performing 7th-grade students with financial need. It provides comprehensive academic and college advising, as well as financial support for school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities.  To be eligible for the Young Scholars Program, an applicant will:<\/p>\n<p>Be entering 8th grade in the fall of 2019.<br \/>\nHave earned grades of mostly A\u2019s since the sixth grade, with no C\u2019s or below in core academic subjects (English\/language arts, math, science, social studies\/history, foreign language).<br \/>\nShare the most recent score report from their state\u2019s standardized testing.<br \/>\nDemonstrate unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. Last year\u2019s cohort of new Cooke Young Scholars had a median family income of approximately $39,000.<br \/>\nReside in the United States or a U.S. territory, and plan to attend high school in the United States.<br \/>\nThe application deadline is Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) EST.
