Happy Memorial Day! We are almost there! This week and next week will be a four day week due to the long holiday weekend. There will be no assignments this Friday or next Monday due the the Memorial Day holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week there will be 5 items that need to be done to get a Meeting <\/strong>Grade for the week. All of the items must be completed to get the Meeting<\/strong> Grade. This is the highest grade. The deadline for the completion of the below items is Saturday, May 23. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. I Ready<\/strong> (15 minutes a day) . I will monitor the time online.<\/li>
  2. Zearn math<\/strong> (1-2 lessons this week). I will monitor the lessons online.<\/li>
  3. Epic reading<\/strong> ( 15 minutes a day) This time includes any books that I assign. The assigned books or videos can be found in the mailbox at the top of the Epic home page. I will monitor the books read and time spent reading online.<\/li>
  4. Writing <\/strong> This week will be informational writing. The writing prompt is Why do we celebrate Memorial Day?<\/strong><\/li>
  5. Spelling Test <\/strong> Lesson 32. Pattern is Long oo family. Final test score only. You can send me your score.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Spelling Words Lesson 32.<\/strong> Long oo family.<\/strong> Students may choose the list that they would like to study this week. Complete the activities on the assignment chart. Spelling test score can be sent to me by Saturday, May 23. There are 10 words and 5 bonus words. All of the words follow the pattern. We have completed the sight word list! Bonus words:<\/strong> hoop, zoo, boot, toot, roof<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    List 1:<\/strong> moon, pool, food, room, school, tooth, spoon, broom, balloon, raccoon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    List 2:<\/strong> kangaroo, cartoon, afternoon, classroom, shampoo, tooth, spoon, broom, balloon, raccoon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Reading Achievements<\/strong>: Our class has read a total of 1400 books on Epic. My students have read for over 142 hours since we began using this site on March 25th. (This does not include the 163 educational videos watched). Our top reader is Adam, with a total of 160 books read. In second place is Violet with159 books read. Wow! so close! Third place is Gretchen with 135 books read and Fourth place is Max with 124 books read. Keep on reading! This is so exciting to watch my students love reading!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
