{"id":1775,"date":"2020-04-22T08:50:46","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T12:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/simsa\/?p=1775"},"modified":"2020-04-22T08:50:49","modified_gmt":"2020-04-22T12:50:49","slug":"earth-day-fun-and-going-on-a-bear-hunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/simsa\/2020\/04\/22\/earth-day-fun-and-going-on-a-bear-hunt\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth Day Fun and \u201cGoing on a Bear Hunt\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Happy Earth Day!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought this was a cute poem (it\u2019s sunny today in Pellston, MI, I guess it\u2019s cloudy in Dearborn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I Meant To Do My Work Today<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>by Richard Le Gallienne<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I meant to do my work today,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And a butterfly flitted across the field,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And all the leaves were calling me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the wind went sighing over the land,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tossing the grasses to and fro,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And a rainbow held out its shining hand&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what could I do but laugh and go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I found this poem from this website that has a lot of fun things to do if you are looking for craft ideas, puzzles, poems, coloring sheets, etc. It had some fun stuff on it:&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dltk-kids.com\/crafts\/earth\/index.html\">Earth Day Crafts, Worksheets, Games and Activities<\/a>&nbsp; It says \u201cEarth Day,\u201d but a lot of the material (like the poem above) is spring\/summer related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HOMEWORK<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember to do your homework from our virtual classroom meeting on Tuesday.&nbsp; Please put a stuffed bear in your front window and then \u201cgo for a bear hunt\u201d (walk the neighborhood looking for stuffed bears in windows).
