{"id":1511,"date":"2019-10-11T09:13:43","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T13:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/simsa\/?p=1511"},"modified":"2019-10-11T09:13:45","modified_gmt":"2019-10-11T13:13:45","slug":"week-of-october-14th-18th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/simsa\/2019\/10\/11\/week-of-october-14th-18th\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 14th-18th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hello Parents and Guardians,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEED TO KNOW:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There is a late start on Wednesday, October 16th.<\/li><li>There is a \u00bd day on Friday, November 1st.<\/li><li>We don\u2019t have school on Tuesday, November 5th, due to election day.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>SPELLING:&nbsp; We will be working on the short \u201car\u201d words.&nbsp; Our words are: far, arm, farm, card, yard, start, art, jar.&nbsp; Our extra words are: are, was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WRITING:&nbsp; We are learning how to write a complete sentence by writing personal narratives.&nbsp; We will be doing this type of writing until the end of October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>READING:&nbsp; We are learning the parts of a story, (character, setting, problem, solution) and how to take those parts and turn them into a retelling of the book.&nbsp; We are also learning about parts of speech, Nouns, and the types of nouns: common and proper nouns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MATH:&nbsp; We will have a mid-module test on Wednesday this week.&nbsp; The students will complete a math review sheet on Monday that they will bring home to use for practice.&nbsp; I expect we will take the test on Wednesday.  The test will be on all of the work we have done so far.  Students should have all <strong><em>lessons 1-24 <\/em><\/strong>completed in their homework book as review for the test.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SCIENCE: &nbsp; We will learn about light and sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES:&nbsp; We will be finishing our lesson on the important to have rules and how to be good citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will have another great week!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ms. Sims<\/em><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Parents and Guardians, NEED TO KNOW: There is a late start on Wednesday, October 16th.
