There will be a Social Studies quiz tomorrow on Michigan’s state symbols (i.e. state flower= apple blossom), vegetation of Michigan (plants that grow here), and the climate of Michigan (temperature and precipitation for the 4 seasons). \u00a0Students should bring home their S.S. folders and spiral notebooks to help them study.<\/p>\n
Reminder that Snow School Skate Night is Thursday, October 16th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park Skating Center. \u00a0Pre-sale tickets are $7.00 and tickets at the door are $9.00. \u00a0The information is coming home today.<\/p>\n
Snow School Book Fair will be this week. \u00a0Our class already visited the book fair today and many students brought money to spend. \u00a0If your child would like to visit the book fair, they will have to stop by after school from 3:35-4:15 p.m.<\/p>\n
For the next 2 weeks we will continue to learn about informational writing. \u00a0We are focusing on writing on how things are alike and different. \u00a0This week we are using double bubbles to compare and contrast two things, then writing a two paragraph paper to describe the similarities and differences.<\/p>\n
Please make sure students are returning their homework on time. \u00a0Check your child’s planner on a daily basis to see what homework has been assigned. \u00a0It is important to have a parent sign and return any checked quizzes\/tests as soon as possible. \u00a0These grades are used for report cards. \u00a0If you still haven’t signed up for Parent Teacher Conferences, there are still time slots left posted outside the classroom door. \u00a0If you are unable to come in to sign up, simply email me at shenew@dearbornschools.org to ask what dates and times are still available and we will set something up. \u00a0The first report cards will be passed out at conferences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
