{"id":1731,"date":"2017-09-11T10:20:56","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T14:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shenew\/?p=1731"},"modified":"2017-09-11T10:20:56","modified_gmt":"2017-09-11T14:20:56","slug":"week-of-september-11-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shenew\/2017\/09\/11\/week-of-september-11-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of September 11-15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for checking my blog. \u00a0I will make a weekly post every Monday that will cover important things to know throughout the week. \u00a0If something special arises, I will post them on my blog throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p>This year, all 4th and 5th graders at Snow will have 10 academic spelling words that follow a particular pattern and 5 content words that are specific to math, science, social studies, or language. \u00a0There will NOT be any cold words on Friday&#8217;s test.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">4th grade spelling words-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Multisyllabic words with short vowels a and e: \u00a0problem, latitude, machine, system, member, snack, happen, candy, theft, travel<\/p>\n<p>Content words: \u00a0points, lines, line segments, rays, quadrangles<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">5th grade spelling words-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Long and short \/a\/ vowel patterns: \u00a0advance, abstract, aggravate, amaze, complain, napkin, happened, candidate, transplant, invade<\/p>\n<p>Content words: \u00a0grateful, array, pair, factor, rectangular<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our lunch is from 11:10-11:50, therefore our class will enjoy snack in the afternoon around 1:30. \u00a0Students are allowed to bring a HEALTHY snack to enjoy in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>We will begin our switching of classes today for Science and Social Studies. \u00a0Fourth graders will go to Mrs. Majetic for Science and to Ms. Guadiana for Social Studies in the afternoon. \u00a0Fifth graders will go to Ms. Sherlock for Science and Mr. DeSantis for Social Studies at a different time in the afternoon. \u00a0Each session is approximately 40 minutes per subject area. \u00a0Each student needs a folder and spiral notebook for each class. \u00a0When a certain grade is out of the room, I will be teaching math to the other grade and vice versa. \u00a0This allows each grade to join their classmates for Science and Social Studies, and get intense work with myself for math!<\/p>\n<p>Reminder that Open House is this Thursday, September 14th from 6:00-7:30 pm. \u00a0Please come in to meet the teacher, see your child&#8217;s classroom, and see how our classroom works!<\/p>\n<p>Reminder that tonight, Monday, September 11th is the Camp Pinewood meeting for 5th grade parents from 5:30-6:15 pm in the cafeteria. \u00a0Camp counselors will be here to go over important information regarding camp. \u00a0Fifth graders will attend camp from October 4-6.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for checking my blog. \u00a0I will make a weekly post every Monday that will cover important things to know throughout the week. \u00a0If something special arises, I will post them on my blog throughout the week.
