{"id":1333,"date":"2016-10-03T11:15:30","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T15:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shenew\/?p=1333"},"modified":"2016-10-03T11:15:30","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T15:15:30","slug":"week-of-october-3-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shenew\/2016\/10\/03\/week-of-october-3-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 3-7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spelling words (long a sound): \u00a0ache, phrase, estimate, arcade, glacier<\/p>\n<p>Academic words: \u00a0geography, region, direction, transportation, landform<\/p>\n<p>ALL students must return their Weekly Reading Log every MONDAY. \u00a0It is the student&#8217;s responsibility to fill in their Reading Log everyday at home. \u00a0 Students need to read at least 100 minutes per week. \u00a0They should also login to MyOn and read as much as possible in order to improve their Lexile Score. \u00a0Make sure to record the current Lexile Score and have a parent sign the log at the end of the week. \u00a0If a student does not return their log to school on Monday, they have not shown responsibility according to the PBIS matrix, therefore the student will have to change his\/her card for the day. \u00a0If you lose the Weekly Reading Log, please print out a new copy from the link on this blog website.<\/p>\n<p>I will not be sending homework home every night. \u00a0It is your child&#8217;s responsibility to fill in their Student Planner to remind themselves what their homework is each day. \u00a0Other than the Weekly Reading Log, 2-3 math Study Links per week, and studying for upcoming tests, the only other homework students will normally have is anything that was not completed in class. \u00a0All of this homework needs to be turned in, otherwise they will be marked down for their grade on their report card. \u00a0Many students have not been turning in homework which will result in lowered report card grades.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the families who have already donated Box Tops to the classroom contest. \u00a0The PTA has organized a contest to see which classroom can collect the most Box Tops. \u00a0Please send in any final donations by this Friday for the PTA contest.<\/p>\n<p>Please consider joining the Snow PTA. \u00a0Many families have already joined!
