I was so excited to hear that so many of my students attended the carnival.\u00a0 Hope you had fun and enjoyed it.<\/p>\n
Our goals and expectations this week!<\/p>\n
Spelling: <\/strong>Our skill this week is vowel digraphs.\u00a0\u00a0 We also have five content words.\u00a0 Friday will be our third official spelling test! \u00a0 Please have your child review either list A or list B and study the “both” section too.<\/p>\n Math<\/strong>: We are studying telling time to the nearest minute. \u00a0Practice real life problems telling time, and have your child complete the homework. Also, students are using Prodigy to practice their math skill.\u00a0 Your child is encouraged to practice math skills with Prodigy. A username and password paper was sent home last Thursday.<\/p>\n Reading<\/strong>: Read every night for 20-30 minutes, and ask and answer comprehension questions.\u00a0 Reading logs and responses should be filled for each time they read.\u00a0 Return logs Monday.<\/p>\n Writing<\/strong>: We are writing a personal narrative.<\/p>\n Also, writing prompts will come home after the vacation. \u00a0Students will write a paragraph about the prompt given using the who, what, when, where, why, and how to write a\u00a0minimum\u00a0of 5-8\u00a0complete sentences. \u00a0Students will have to plan, write first draft, revise, edit, and publish for homework every week. \u00a0Please review their writing by having them read it aloud to you.<\/p>\n If I didn’t meet your yet, please stop by to say hi.\u00a0 I would love to say hello.<\/p>\n Contact me by e-mail: shakara@dearbornschools.org or schools.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs. Shakarchi and students in room 217<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dear Parents, I was so excited to hear that so many of my students attended the carnival.\u00a0 Hope you had fun and enjoyed it.
