Record minutes on February logs please. Bring your logs on Fridays to count the minutes.\u00a0 Also, Mobymax and Myon reading can be used towards the 30 minutes reading .<\/p>\n<p>~<strong>Reading:<\/strong> RL.3.5: We are reading different types of plays.\u00a0 Students are using text evidence to describe character traits and summarize events in sequence.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Language Arts Quiz<\/strong>: Monday #23 (students take the weekly language review on Friday to study). \u00a0The Weekly LA review is their study guide for the Monday quiz.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Writing<\/strong>: <em>Students will take a position on public issue<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"standard\">Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons.<\/div>\n<div class=\"substandard\"><a class=\"identifier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/W\/3\/1\/a\/\" name=\"CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.3.1.a\">CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.1.A<\/a><br \/>\nIntroduce the topic or text they are writing about, state an opinion, and create an organizational structure that lists reasons.<\/div>\n<div class=\"substandard\"><a class=\"identifier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/W\/3\/1\/b\/\" name=\"CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.3.1.b\">CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.1.B<\/a><br \/>\nProvide reasons that support the opinion.<\/div>\n<div class=\"substandard\"><a class=\"identifier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/W\/3\/1\/c\/\" name=\"CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.3.1.c\">CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.1.C<\/a><br \/>\nUse linking words and phrases (e.g., <i>because<\/i>, <i>therefore<\/i>, <i>since<\/i>, <i>for<\/i> <i>example<\/i>) to connect opinion and reasons.<\/div>\n<div class=\"substandard\"><a class=\"identifier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/W\/3\/1\/d\/\" name=\"CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.3.1.d\">CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.1.D<\/a><br \/>\nProvide a concluding statement or section.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Fluency<\/strong>: a new fluency will be sent home today. Please have your child read the passage four times a week. Each time should include three attempts. Have them answer the questions in a complete sentence and underline their evidence in the text.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Fluency<\/strong>: Due Monday<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Story of the Week<\/strong>: a new prompt will be sent home today. We love how the students are expressing themselves through this free write.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Story of the Week<\/strong>: Due Monday<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Math<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWe are studying unit 7 (3.OA.6 and 3.OA.9). \u00a0<em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\">Unit 7 test is on Thursday 3\/23<\/em>.\u00a0 Students will use the study guide for review.\u00a0 Please \u00a0help your child to continue using Mobymax and Frontrow for practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Math Review Quiz<\/strong>:#22 Friday (students take week 22 class review on Thursdays)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies standard:<\/strong>\u00a0Identifying and Analyzing Public Issues Clearly state a problem as a public policy issue, analyze various perspectives, and generate and evaluate possible alternative resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>Lesson packets are sent for home a day before for a pre-read.\u00a0 Please send it back so we can discuss and answer questions. Pre reading at home seems to help students further understand the lessons. It can be used later to reinforce what we learn in class.\u00a0 <em>The social studies common assessment will take place on 3\/29.\u00a0 A study guide will be sent on 3\/20. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Snacks<\/strong>: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack.
