Hope you stayed warm in this very cold and white weekend.<\/p>\n
NWEA in reading, language, math, and science will be given after the New Year.\u00a0 Please continue to have your child practice Math and Reading skills using Mobymax and other NWEA sites.\u00a0 We are working hard every day in class during Daily 5 and Math workshop to practice needed skills. Most of the students know how to log to Clever in class.\u00a0 They need their School ID number and date of birth. I will be glad to send the information home if needed.<\/p>\n
Reading: Please have students read for 20-30 minutes, and to ask comprehension questions. \u00a0 Remind the students to log their reading minutes on the Book It log.<\/p>\n
Writing\/Social Studies: our focus is informational writing.\u00a0 We have been writing about Native Americans life in Michigan. This week we want to make sure we have enough details and examples for each paragraph.\u00a0 Some students are researching in class and adding more details.\u00a0 They might need extra time at home, so please allow them with your supervision to research about their topic.<\/p>\n
Social Studies: #2 social studies packet will come home this week.\u00a0 It will contain\u00a0 vocabulary words, article, questions,\u00a0 and a study guide for the upcoming Social Studies test on Wednesday, December 21st .\u00a0 This common assessment is district mandated and will be giving on the chrome books, so please have students study for it in advance.<\/p>\n
Math Test: We are continuing working on Unit 4 (multiplication and division).\u00a0 A study guide will come home this Friday . \u00a0We will have a test will be on 11\/20. Please have students practice using the multiplication table for answering the division problems.<\/p>\n
Homework: A reading and math homework will be sent home every day except Fridays unless we have a test or unfinished class writing.<\/p>\n
Fluency and Story of the Week will be sent home.\u00a0 I have many students who didn\u2019t do their Fluency and Story of the Week for two weeks in a row.\u00a0 I gave them a chance last week because they said they forgot them.\u00a0 Please make sure they bring them Monday.<\/p>\n
