Good Afternoon:
\nScience: Forces and Motion (in class exploration)<\/p>\n
Reading: we are focusing on reading strategies through using the CAFE menu. We did so far these strategies:
\nBack up and reread.
\nAsk and answer questions
\nRecognize literacy elements
\nTune in to interesting words
\nAsk your child what are the other strategies, and encourage them to use them during reading.<\/p>\n
Spelling:
\nThis week\u2019s spelling is spelling list #3 (We finally put them on rings…yeay! Students should save these spelling cards and continuously study the spelling pattern for List A and Both. On the 7th week, we will have a random spelling test from List A and Both.
\nSpelling words and on a card and written in their planners. Content words don’t follow the spelling pattern. <\/p>\n
Fluency:
\nI am sending a Fluency folder home. Please have your son\/daughter practice reading with understanding and time them for one minute. Questions need to be answered in complete sentences.<\/p>\n
Math:
\nThis week we will be working on all types of graphing. Continue practicing telling time and elapsed time with them. <\/p>\n
October PBIS:
\nWe will start recording behavior starting this month. Please review expectations with your child to help them stay on Green or above.<\/p>\n
