{"id":1319,"date":"2019-09-23T21:00:53","date_gmt":"2019-09-24T01:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/?p=1319"},"modified":"2019-09-19T15:06:42","modified_gmt":"2019-09-19T19:06:42","slug":"week-ahead-9-23-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/2019\/09\/23\/week-ahead-9-23-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Week Ahead 9\/23\/19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spelling<\/strong>: &nbsp;List #3 Vowel Digraphs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List A<\/strong>: out, cloud, count,crown, power, straw, launch, yawn, haunt, draw<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Both<\/strong>: mouth, brown, claw, auto, haul<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List B<\/strong>: autograph, scrawny, author, thousand, flawless, fountain, prowler, account, coward, powerful<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Spelling Homework<\/strong>&nbsp;:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.&nbsp; Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.&nbsp; All students will need to study the words in \u201cboth\u201d section.&nbsp; &nbsp; There will be 5 content words added as well&nbsp;for a total of 20 words.<\/em><\/li><li>Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.&nbsp; They will choose three squares&nbsp; to complete and hand in on Friday.&nbsp; Have fun&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spelling Test<\/strong>: Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong> <strong>for 20-30 Minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~20-30 minutes \u2013In addition to reading books, students may use &nbsp;Mobymax, &nbsp;Myon, any reading assignment towards &nbsp;the 30 minutes of reading .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~<strong>Reading:<\/strong>&nbsp;Asking and answering questions and story elements. I am sending a reading log and reading comprehension weekly along with comprehension questions for fiction and nonfiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Language Arts:&nbsp;<\/strong>Students study grammar&nbsp;and language review Monday-Thursday.&nbsp; Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>:<br>We are working on multiplication and division strategies and story problems.&nbsp; Students will receive homework as we finish learning the lessons in class.&nbsp; The homework book is called Succeed. Sometimes, homework will also be in the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-very-dark-gray-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color\">Also, students are encouraged to practice math skills using <strong>Zearn<\/strong>.  They have the User Name and Password taped in their planners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong>:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Snacks<\/strong>: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack.
