{"id":1305,"date":"2019-09-16T09:00:39","date_gmt":"2019-09-16T13:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/?p=1305"},"modified":"2019-09-13T08:27:08","modified_gmt":"2019-09-13T12:27:08","slug":"weekly-updates-9-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/2019\/09\/16\/weekly-updates-9-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Updates 9\/16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Note: Friday 9\/20 will be a half day.  11:10 Dismissal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spelling<\/strong>: &nbsp;List #2 Vowel Teams<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List A<\/strong>: ray, clay, waits, hoe, soak, toast, reach, bead, coin, enjoy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Both<\/strong>: boil, goal, beach, bait, aim<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List B<\/strong>:  approach, oboe, entertain, yesterday, rejoice, trapezoid, enjoyable, bumblebee, sweeten, peanuts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Spelling Homework<\/strong> : <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.&nbsp; Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.&nbsp; All students will need to study the words in &#8220;both&#8221; section.&nbsp; &nbsp; There will be 5 content words added as well&nbsp;for a total of 20 words.<\/em><\/li><li>Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.&nbsp; They will choose three squares&nbsp; to complete and hand in on Friday.&nbsp; Have fun \ud83d\ude42<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spelling Test<\/strong>: Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~20-30 minutes \u2013In addition to reading books, students may use &nbsp;Mobymax, &nbsp;Myon, any reading assignment towards &nbsp;the 30 minutes of reading .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~<strong>Reading:<\/strong>&nbsp;Asking and answering questions and story elements. I am sending a reading log and reading comprehension weekly along with comprehension questions for fiction and nonfiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Language Arts: <\/strong>Students study grammar&nbsp;and language review Monday-Thursday.&nbsp; Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>:<br>We are working on multiplication and division strategies and story problems.&nbsp; Students will receive homework as we finish learning the lessons in class.&nbsp; The homework book is called Succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong>:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Snacks<\/strong>: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack.
