{"id":1164,"date":"2018-11-05T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-05T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/?p=1164"},"modified":"2018-10-31T15:17:33","modified_gmt":"2018-10-31T19:17:33","slug":"news-letter-november-5-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/2018\/11\/05\/news-letter-november-5-9\/","title":{"rendered":"News Letter November 5-9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>I<\/strong><strong>mportant date: No School November 6\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>spelling: <\/strong>Random Spelling-Students will review lists 1-7 only the Both section for this week spelling test.\u00a0 I will randomly choose twenty words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong>Spelling Homework<\/strong> : <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.\u00a0 Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.\u00a0 All students will need to study the words in &#8220;both&#8221; section.\u00a0 \u00a0 There will be 5 content words added as well\u00a0for a total of 20 words.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.\u00a0 They will choose three squares\u00a0 to complete and hand in on Friday.\u00a0 Have fun \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Spelling Test<\/strong>: Friday<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Reading<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">~20-30 minutes \u2013In addition to reading books, students may use\u00a0 Education City and any reading assignment towards \u00a0the 30 minutes of reading .Education City: New website-students have their username and password on their planner.\u00a0 It is the yellow paper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">~<strong>Reading:<\/strong>\u00a0<a class=\"identifier\" href=\"https:\/\/www.corestandards.org\/ELA-Literacy\/RI\/3\/9\/\" name=\"CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.3.9\">CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.9<\/a><br \/>\nCompare and contrast the most important points and key details presented in two texts on the same topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>\u00a0Language Arts: <\/b>Students study grammar\u00a0and language review Monday-Thursday.\u00a0 Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be on Friday.
