{"id":1134,"date":"2018-09-17T09:00:41","date_gmt":"2018-09-17T13:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2018-09-13T07:54:02","modified_gmt":"2018-09-13T11:54:02","slug":"news-letter-september-17-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/shakarchi\/2018\/09\/17\/news-letter-september-17-21\/","title":{"rendered":"News Letter September 17-21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Good Morning: hope you had a wonderful weekend!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spelling<\/strong>: \u00a0List #1 skill \u2013 Silent E<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Spelling Homework<\/strong> : <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection.\u00a0 Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results.\u00a0 All students will need to study the words in &#8220;both&#8221; section.\u00a0 \u00a0 There will be 5 content words added as well\u00a0for a total of 20 words.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks.\u00a0 They will choose three squares\u00a0 to complete and hand in on Friday.\u00a0 Have fun \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Spelling Test<\/strong>: Friday<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>~20-30 minutes \u2013In addition to reading books, students may use \u00a0Mobymax, \u00a0Myon, any reading assignment towards \u00a0the 30 minutes of reading .<\/p>\n<p>~<strong>Reading:<\/strong>\u00a0Asking and answering questions and story elements. I will start sending a reading log and reading comprehension weekly along with comprehension questions for fiction and nonfiction.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Language Arts: <\/b>Students study grammar\u00a0and language review Monday-Thursday.\u00a0 Study guide comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWe are working on multiplication and division strategies and story problems.\u00a0 Students will receive homework as we finish learning the lessons in class.\u00a0 The homework book is called Succeed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong>:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snacks<\/strong>: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack.
