6th Grade M-Step Day 2!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week we administered the\u00a0Math\u00a0 version for the M-Step. This week, students will\u00a0 be assessed on M-Step\u00a0ELA<\/strong> on Tuesday, May 8 during\u00a0<\/strong>their 2nd hour block!<\/strong>\u00a0 Best of luck to you and always remember to read the directions, questions and responses 2-3 times<\/strong><\/em> before making a response.\u00a0 Again,\u00a0 I would like to remind you to ALWAYS read the directions, passage and responses 2-3 times.<\/p>\n

Parents, please encourage your child to do their BEST, have a good night’s sleep and ofcourse breakfast.\u00a0 \u00a0Please review some additional tips below that our school website shared with you a few weeks earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

  • Have a positive attitude. \u00a0Tell yourself, \u201cI will do my best on this test.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • Go to sleep at a reasonable time to get a good night\u2019s rest the night before the test.<\/li>\n
  • Wake up early enough to avoid rushing to get ready for school.<\/li>\n
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

  • Relax, take a deep breath, and think positive thoughts, \u201cI am going to do well.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • Listen carefully to directions.<\/li>\n
  • Ready each question carefully. \u00a0Identify key words. Think about what the question is really asking.<\/li>\n
  • Read the entire question and all the answer choices.<\/li>\n
  • Apply strategies that you learned in class to figure out the answer. \u00a0Pick the best answer.<\/li>\n
  • Recheck answer before moving on to the next question.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    In science this week:<\/p>\n

    • ERC regarding advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction is due.<\/li>\n
    • We will begin a new unit on Weather and Climate as we .\n
        \n
      • Design a Cloud in Jar model to explain the cycling of water in our Earth’s system.<\/li>\n
      • Review the water cycle if needed in some sections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Some of the questions we will be answering through discussions are\n
          \n
        • How do we know the weather?<\/li>\n
        • Can we predict the weather?<\/li>\n
        • How does the weather impact our lives?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Mr. Trerice and myself distributed the forms for our annual 6th Grade Field Trip to the Adventure Park in June. Please sign the online waiver I posted on Google Classroom for your child and yourself if you were asked to be a chaperone for that day.<\/p>\n
