{"id":808,"date":"2018-02-04T15:28:15","date_gmt":"2018-02-04T20:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=808"},"modified":"2018-02-04T15:28:15","modified_gmt":"2018-02-04T20:28:15","slug":"week-21-february-5-to-february-9-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2018\/02\/04\/week-21-february-5-to-february-9-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 21: February 5 to February 9, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students are encouraged to wear red tomorrow in honor of Heart Health.\u00a0Also, Wednesday 2\/7 is a Late Start.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft \" src=\"https:\/\/health.mil\/~\/media\/Images\/MHS\/Photos\/WearRed02017.ashx\" width=\"262\" height=\"156\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In science news:<\/p>\n<p>Last week students continued to discuss what they discovered or had questions regarding thermal energy transfer using sources provided to them and classroom discussions.\u00a0 They were also introduced to a new task known as &#8220;Evidence-Reasoning-Claim&#8221; where they would use to answer their guiding question.<\/p>\n<p>Last weeks guiding question was:\u00a0 How can what you cannot see explain what you can see?<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s guiding question is:\u00a0<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How can we control heat transfer to match our needs?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>The above guiding question will help them with the prototype project\u00a0 storyline:<\/strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright \" src=\"https:\/\/aeda.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Mistakes-Every-Architect-Makes-1.png\" width=\"389\" height=\"298\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are an <\/span><b>architect<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who will design the prototype of a home that minimizes energy loss. \u00a0Throughout the unit, teams will find out how energy moves through objects.
