{"id":574,"date":"2017-05-15T00:06:53","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T04:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=574"},"modified":"2017-05-15T00:13:18","modified_gmt":"2017-05-15T04:13:18","slug":"week-of-may-15-to-may-19-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2017\/05\/15\/week-of-may-15-to-may-19-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of May 15 to May 19, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good day and I hope you enjoyed your Mother&#8217;s Day weekend.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our field trip to the Adventure Park is finally here! \u00a0This Friday (5\/19), the 100 PAID students and their assigned chaperones will be meeting at the auditorium before leaving for the park for group assignments and field trip norms.<\/li>\n<li>Report Cards for the 5th marking period will be sent home this week.<\/li>\n<li>3rd Hour A-Day and 3rd Hour B-Day students showed the most growth in the Science NWEA from the Fall to Spring of this school year. B-Day students celebrated on Friday with a beautiful picnic and A-Day students will be doing the same on Monday. \u00a02nd Hour A-Day and 4th Hour A-Day classes were 2nd place winners with one point less than 3rd Hour.<\/li>\n<li>Congratulations to students from EVERY hour who met their learning goal and showed at least a 10 point growth from Fall to Spring.\u00a0I will be personally inviting 6th Grade science students who grew 13 points or more in the Science NWEA to have lunch and celebrate their success.<\/li>\n<li>Parents please complete the following survey at your own convenience\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/smith.dearbornschools.org\/2017\/05\/12\/parent-survey\/\">https:\/\/smith.dearbornschools.org\/2017\/05\/12\/parent-survey\/\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students, please click on the following link to complete the survey . \u00a0Thank you.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1f7qZRfbIVd37T-ZofdMvIN7mKqwBEWZgFF8ZbhPgv24\/edit?ts=5915afee\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1f7qZRfbIVd37T-ZofdMvIN7mKqwBEWZgFF8ZbhPgv24\/edit?ts=5915afee<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Our<strong> first SMITH COLOR RUN<\/strong>\u00a0is taking place on Tuesday from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>3:15 pm to 3:45 pm<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0We will meet at the track to participate in the walk\/run. \u00a0<strong>All<\/strong> are invited and the cost is only <em><strong>$5 per person<\/strong><\/em> to participate. \u00a0Please come and join us and support our SMITH Viking team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Science this week we will continue our learning on Weathering, Erosion and Deposition. \u00a0We will do so through <em><strong>group talk, gallery walk, and a couple of mini-labs.<\/strong><\/em> \u00a0I have asked students to donate some lab items for extra credit. The message below was posted on Google Classroom \u00a0:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Extra Credit Lab Supplies for this week (5\/15 to 5\/18):<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThis week we will be completing a couple of labs that deal with weathering and erosion. If you could donate any 2 of the following supplies needed for this week, you will receive 10% extra credit . Thank you in advance.
