Go Blue!<\/li>\n<li>We are planning to watch the movie &#8220;Hidden Figures&#8221; this week in celebration of last month&#8217;s Black History Month. \u00a0Students worked really hard in Science and Language Arts researching African Americans who pushed through all obstacles to work hard and make history.<\/li>\n<li>Spring Break begins on Monday April 3 through Friday April,7. \u00a0Have a safe and relaxing Spring Break.<\/li>\n<li>We will celebrate the success of 1st place and 2nd place Class Dojo winners this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This week in Science&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6th Graders will be assessed on Mechanical Energy=Potential Energy+Kinetic Energy and how it is related to everyday situations.<\/li>\n<li>An essay is also due this week (Thursday for A-Day and Friday for B-Day) that students will utilize their ERC, bellwork, class discussions, Cornell notes, homework and labs to to discuss Mechanical Energy.<\/li>\n<li>We will finalize our discussion and learning about energy this week with Energy Transformation from one form of energy to another.<\/li>\n<li>A copy of my lesson plan for this week is attached below:\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/planbook.com\/planbook.html?t=1247346&amp;k=savage-science\">https:\/\/planbook.com\/planbook.html?t=1247346&amp;k=savage-science\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lastly in regards to the upcoming Spring M-Step<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.com\/MI\/portals\/mi\/ott1?index=1&amp;adminId=523777\">https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.com\/MI\/portals\/mi\/ott1?index=1&amp;adminId=523777<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The online Sample Item Sets are a select group of test items in ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies that encompass different item types, such as multiple\u00a0choice, constructed response, and various kinds of technology-enhanced items. The sets provide students, teachers, and parents practice in solving grade-level and content-specific test items aligned to Michigan&#8217;s academic content standards.<\/p>\n<p>There are two ways to get to the online Sample Item Sets:<\/p>\n<p>1) Anyone can access the Sample Item Sets through the Chrome browser at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.com\/MI\/portals\/mi\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.com\/MI\/portals\/mi\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1490877258783000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGefo15K0RXZAEh6pyB_PqLDfsedA\">https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.<wbr \/>com\/MI\/portals\/mi\/<\/a>.<br \/>\n2) Schools that have installed the updated INSIGHT software can access the Sample Item Sets by opening INSIGHT.<\/p>\n<p>The directions to access the sample items are the same for both methods:<\/p>\n<p>a) M-STEP is on the left side;<br \/>\nb) Select &#8220;Online Tools Training&#8221;<br \/>\nc) Select &#8220;Sample Item Sets&#8221;<br \/>\nd) Select the grade<br \/>\ne) Select the content area<br \/>\nf) Login with the Username and Password provided on the login screen<\/p>\n<p>Have a great week and a wonderful Spring Break.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Savage<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good day to all!
