{"id":539,"date":"2017-03-05T20:41:36","date_gmt":"2017-03-06T01:41:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=539"},"modified":"2017-03-05T20:41:36","modified_gmt":"2017-03-06T01:41:36","slug":"week-of-march-6-to-march-10-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2017\/03\/05\/week-of-march-6-to-march-10-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of March 6 to March 10, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are almost 2 weeks away from Spring, although we have had more spring like weather than Michigan Wintery weather. \u00a0Do not forget to set \u00a0clocks forward one hour on Sunday 3\/12\/2017 (Daylight Savings Time). \u00a0Other reminders for this week are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daylight Saving Time on Sunday 3\/12<\/li>\n<li>Pajama Day on Friday 3\/10. \u00a0It will cost you $1 to come to Smith on Friday 3\/10 all comfortable in Pajamas. \u00a0Your advisory teacher will give you a ticket to pin it and show your school spirit.<\/li>\n<li>Dress for Success days happen every Wednesday. \u00a0I am proud of those who show up on Wednesdays dressed for success :D.<\/li>\n<li>If you are behind in your homework or need help catching up, then think about tutoring that takes place on Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Students who live nearby or close to River Oaks and take the bus, you could join tutoring on Wednesdays an Fridays from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm; a bus will take you home afterward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This week, some students already completed their Thermal Energy quiz, however others will be completing the quiz this week. \u00a0Grades will be posted online and tests will be sent home for parents&#8217; signatures. We will continue learning and discussing energy focusing on Mechanical Energy which includes Potential Energy (PE) and Kinetic Energy (KE). \u00a0A class project along with a home project will be introduced this week. \u00a0Also, students will get a chance to create a blueprint of a Rube Goldberg Machine, and test it in class.
