However we are almost finished and I am proud to announce that every class showed a minimum 4 point increase as a class average. Individually, some students grew up to 12 points since their Fall Science NWEA test, most grew 5-6 points but some declined. Overall as a team, students did their best and showed improvement. I am proud and I am hoping for every student to create new learning goals for this new semester to continue with their curious learning, continue to show growth, and reveal success! I promised all 6 classes, the hour that shows the most growth will celebrate with a pie tasting moment. There are 2 classes that are close; we are waiting on a few students to complete or take the Science NWEA.

This week students will be assessed on Matter (states and phases); powerpoint notes are posted on Google Classroom for students to study from. Also, semester one (3rd marking period) ended on Friday 1/27. We are halfway through the school year and moving forward with our learning. Report cards will be sent home next week with students.

This week, we will move on from Matter, its states and phases to Thermal Energy Transfer. Our focus is on conduction, radiation and convection. Students will visit some lab stations to inquire about this topic, then participate in a class discussion and note taking using CER/Cornell notes.
