Students did a phenomenal job creating their ecosystems and presenting them in class. Students will continue to present their homework projects this week.
\nProgress reports were passed out on Friday however, there are a few students who didn’t get a chance to receive their reports. They will obtain them on Monday.<\/p>\n
For the past 2.5 weeks we have been discussing the importance of an ecosystem, the 5 levels of organization, and how species depend and compete for biotic and abiotic parts within the ecosystem. Students will be assessed on Wednesday and Thursday; Power point slides are posted on Google Classroom to help them review for the test.<\/p>\n
This week we will focus on the cycling of matter and flow of energy within the ecosystems food web.
\nStudents could read section 2 as an additional resource to help them understand the topic better.
\nThis week we will:
\n1. Take part in a small class activity to introduce Energy Pyramid lesson (
\n2. Engage in multiple science station labs regarding the flow of energy.
\n3. Energy Pyramid Homework Project (choices are: children’s book, video, podcast, game, model or design an experiment)
\n4. Ecosystem: Abiotic & Biotic factors Test.
