I hope you had a restful and memorable break.  Please check your gradebook to find out what missing or incomplete assignments you have not completed or turned in .  See me after school or email me if you have any questions about your grade.  Also, please remember to review and follow our school&#8217;s PBIS expectations when in school or in class.  These expectations are in your planner.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In science this week&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Unit 2, Lesson 3<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that students have identified the source of the mystery pathogen (<em><strong>Cholera and RAD disease<\/strong><\/em>)from <em>lesson 2<\/em>, they will continue their investigation to determine if the pathogen is <strong>living<\/strong> or <strong>nonliving<\/strong>.\u00a0 In doing so, they will determine what that pathogen is.  Also, through their investigation, students will figure out what general characteristics this <strong>virus <\/strong>has.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lesson 3 Question:<\/strong> How do we know if something is living?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lesson 3 Checklist for understanding: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How living things have certain characteristics that non-living things do not have.<\/li><li>How all living things are made of cells.<\/li><li>How the number of cells can vary between organisms.<\/li><li>How and why different tools are needed to study cells.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to above, students will take part this week (<strong>Tuesday &amp; Wednesday<\/strong>) to research a prominent African American scientist or inventor and how they contributed to the science world.  They will be given 2 options to complete this project; <em><strong>poster or slideshow<\/strong><\/em>. It will be posted on Google Classroom.
