{"id":1233,"date":"2019-10-10T19:27:38","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T23:27:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=1233"},"modified":"2019-10-10T20:56:01","modified_gmt":"2019-10-11T00:56:01","slug":"october-7-11-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2019\/10\/10\/october-7-11-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"October 7-11, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Lab Week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good evening and I hope your week is going as well and productive as it did in our classroom.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week in science:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students reviewed our Unit Challenge Scenario and how human activity could have altered the water flow. <\/li><li> Students worked together to describe why a local community was having flooding problems and evaluated proposed solutions to address this problem. <\/li><li> We started our lab this week investigating the flow of water.  Here is the following checklist students could use to evaluate their lab notes.  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mi-star.mtu.edu\/i\/f\/photo%20for%206_1_water.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"202\" height=\"134\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lab Checklist<\/strong>:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How gravity affects the flow of water. <\/li><li>How the ground\u2019s shape affects the flow of water. <\/li><li>How the land cover affects the flow of water through different processes. <\/li><li>How the land cover affects the amount of water that flows into the stream as runoff or groundwater. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">B-Day students have a quiz on lessons 1 and 2 tomorrow and A-Day students will complete their quiz on Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next week, students will develop a model to describe water as it moves from the land (as liquid) to the atmosphere (as a gas) through evaporation and transpiration caused by sunlight. Students will use a model to describe that water moves from the atmosphere (as a gas) to land (as a liquid or solid) through condensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next week&#8217;s Checklist for students is as follows: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How the sun is related to the movement of water from the Earth.<\/li><li>How water changes state during each step of this process.<\/li><li>How plants affect the movement of water.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a great week!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. Savage<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lab Week!
