{"id":1228,"date":"2019-09-20T08:31:34","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T12:31:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2019-09-20T08:31:46","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T12:31:46","slug":"week-3-september-16-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2019\/09\/20\/week-3-september-16-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 3 September 16-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Thank you to the parents, siblings and guardians who stopped by during \u201cOpen House\u201d last week.&nbsp; I hope by now parents&nbsp; are connected to \u201cParent Connect\u201d and students are connected to \u201cStudent Connect\u201d to stay up to date with their grades.&nbsp; I have updated my gradebook on Friday to show graded assignments.&nbsp; The following are posted so far<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Welcome Week (<strong><em>20 points<\/em><\/strong>)<\/li><li>Bell Ringer (<strong><em>5 points<\/em><\/strong>)<\/li><li>Student Inventory\u00a0<strong>(<em>5 points)<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>Science Talk  (<strong>5 Points<em>)<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>Lab Safety Bellwork <strong>(5 points)<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This week in Science<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We completed NWEA testing for MAth, Reading and Language.<\/li><li>Completed the Unit 1 Science Pretest<\/li><li>Reviewed and paracticed our Lab Safety rules and LEARNED about the TIGHT (Loose their license) and Loose (given a warning) lab safety rules.<\/li><li>Students received their scientist LAB LICENSE <\/li><li>We have chosen our Class Ambassadors <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next week:   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students will complete and submit their Learning Plan (check Google Classroom).   It is every student\u2019s responsibility to show  35% growth  or higher   from Pretest to Posttest.\u00a0 Please help your child this week to think about those 2 goals for the first semester as I will post this assignment on Google Classroom on Monday.    <\/li><li>We will begin our first UNIT on Water  <\/li><li>6th grade students and teachers are going on a field trip with the WEB leaders on Monday (FIRST DAY OF FALL).
