{"id":1132,"date":"2019-04-28T21:36:15","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T01:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/?p=1132"},"modified":"2019-04-28T21:36:15","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T01:36:15","slug":"week-33-april-29-to-may-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/savagea\/2019\/04\/28\/week-33-april-29-to-may-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 33: April 29 to May 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/wbte.drcedirect.com\/MI\/images\/portal\/mi\/M-Step-Logo.png\" width=\"288\" height=\"144\" \/>With May approaching this week, so are state and district assessments.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>M-Step testing begins this week for 7th and 8th grade students.\u00a0 6th grade M-Step testing starts next week with ELA and Math.<\/li>\n<li>In other school news, Spring Concert is scheduled for Tuesday 4\/30 at 6:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Science this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will continue our investigation into the differences between sexual and asexual reproduction, focusing on 5 aspects: organism, unicellular or multicellular, parental care, mode of reproduction, offspring is unique or a clone.<\/li>\n<li>Afterwards students will join with another team of 2, to create an informational poster suggesting which breed is better for the ecosystem based on evidence they interpreted, from the articles they read last week.\n<ul>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agexplorer.com\/sites\/agexplorer.com\/files\/styles\/focus_image\/public\/career_img\/ecologist%20and%20environmental%20scientist%20and%20hydrologist%20-edited.jpg?itok=ab7Q32xE\" width=\"255\" height=\"255\" \/>Our unit storyline is as follows: &#8220;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are an <\/span><b>ecologist <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who wants to find out the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">advantages and disadvantages of reproduction<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. To answer this question you decide to compare <\/span><b>5 aspects of organisms that reproduce sexually with organisms that reproduce asexually. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You started your study by looking at <\/span><b>two <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">different organisms.
