6th graders continued to do a phenomenal job, as they shared their prototype home and results last week about their model minimizing thermal energy loss.\u00a0 They conducted this exercise as they completed the final testing of their prototypes’ floor, middle section and roof, using an infrared thermometer.\u00a0 I would like to give a special thanks to our wonderful Art teacher, Mr. Kade who helped with this project and gave students the opportunity to become young architects.\u00a0 He also patiently gave students the chance to use products from his ART Room, as well as helped students who needed additional features added to their home.<\/p>\n

We will be having a public gallery walk this week for the 6th graders to present their prototype homes to SMITH students and PARENT guests in the ATRIUM.\u00a0 6th graders from different hours along with 7th& 8th graders will stop by to visit and learn from each other\u2019s prototype!\u00a0 \u00a0I am attaching the schedule below for A & B Day students and we hope to see you then.\u00a0 The Home Expo will be displayed in our school atrium and it is planned for Wednesday 3\/27 (B-Day) & Thursday\u00a0 3\/28 (A-Day).<\/p>\n

  • Students will receive a study guide for the Heat Unit Test and create paper\/electronic flashcards to prepare for the test.<\/li>\n
  • Thermal Energy Test is scheduled for Thursday (A-Day) and Friday (B-Day).\u00a0 Goodluck to All!\n

    • I will post an electronic copy of the study guide on Google Classroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Students will take part in\u00a0a gallery walk EXPO as they explain and visit their Energy Efficient home projects.<\/li>\n
