Data is collected every time they improve their prototype while learning about Thermal Energy Transfer.<\/p>\n<p>We also explored some prominent African American Scientists that the students researched .\u00a0Lastly, we researched and discussed several fruits and vegetables from the &#8220;Food Rainbow&#8221; unit with multiple health benefits to our body system.\u00a0 Afterward, students decided what fruits and vegetables were best suited for our Smith school garden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>This week in Physical Science students will&#8230;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>continue sharing their African American scientist research and learn about others through a gallery walk \/ whole class presentation<\/li>\n<li>continue to dig deeper into our Thermal Energy unit phenomena as we research why certain objects feel warmer than others.\u00a0 Afterwards we will apply what we learned to our Energy Efficient Home models.<\/li>\n<li>complete lecture discussion regarding thermal energy transfer using the terms:\n<ul>\n<li>radiation, conduction, convection, thermal energy transfer, conductor, insulator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Take a quiz\u00a0 on thermal energy transfer (Friday 3\/8\u00a0 for A-Day and Monday 3\/11 for B-Day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/www.singhhomes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/increase-home-energy-efficiency.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"241\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Have a great week!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Savage<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week we started the data collection process of students&#8217; home prototype that they built.\u00a0 Students collected the initial temperature data of their uninsulated or partially insulated house, after it was\u00a0 placed outside for 10 minutes.
