Objective<\/span>: \u00a0I can apply the 4-Step Process for vocabulary to the selected word in today’s vocabulary lesson.<\/p>\n

Bellwork<\/span>: \u00a0In your spiral notebook, write down the five vocabulary words with their parts of speech: manipulation(n), treachery(n), disastrous(adj), masterpiece(n), and cobbler(n). \u00a0Leave space for each entry. 2nd Hour<\/strong>: Read the traits of a #4 score for the District Argumentative Writing Rubric. \u00a0In your notebook, set a goal or ask a question.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/span>:<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Whole Class: \u00a0Students will follow the model of applying the 4-Step Process at the Promethean Board for the word “manipulation.” \u00a02nd Hour: \u00a0<\/strong>Random Share Out: \u00a0Review the five traits(+ presentation) of the District Argumentative Rubric.<\/li>\n
  2. Independent Study: \u00a0Students will apply the 4-Step Process to the remaining vocabulary words. \u00a02nd Hour<\/strong>: \u00a0In the library, type or rewrite your essay.<\/li>\n
  3. Volunteers will be asked to rehearse\/present the first Show the Word activity. \u00a02nd Hour<\/b>: \u00a0When you have completed your essay, print it and sign off with the teacher. \u00a0Add notes to your SSR log. \u00a0Some of you might need to turn in your library books.<\/li>\n
  4. Students will continue to collect facts about Shakespeare’s life from “Shakespeare in the Classroom.”<\/li>\n
