{"id":3284,"date":"2018-11-28T05:46:15","date_gmt":"2018-11-28T10:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/?p=3284"},"modified":"2018-11-29T05:05:39","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T10:05:39","slug":"november-28-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/2018\/11\/28\/november-28-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"November 28, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: \u00a0I can complete two final bucket organizers, pro and con, for the argumentative essay by reading new AOWs and adding appropriate quotes with the authors and page numbers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0SSR: \u00a0Students will select between two options to read for AOWs: \u00a0the\u00a0<em>Washington Post\u00a0<\/em>&#8220;High-tech vs. no-tech&#8221; article or the two articles about educational game apps. \u00a0In their notebooks, students will write at least 4 new quotes with the author&#8217;s name and page number.<\/li>\n<li>Bucket Organizers: \u00a0Students will complete the final two bucket organizers(pro and con) with the three \u00a0best topics and three of the best quotes\/authors\/pages for each topic. (Think Pair\/Share optional).<\/li>\n<li><strong>HW<\/strong>:\u00a0 Students should submit two final bucket organizers tomorrow with three of the best buckets for each side, pro and con, and three of the most effective quotes for each bucket.\u00a0 You can select quotes from the past bucket organizers and from new quotes that were read today or ones that you have noticed from other readings.\u00a0 These are today&#8217;s readings:\u00a0 &#8220;High-tech vs. no-tech: D.C. area schools take opposite approaches to education&#8221; by Cecilia Kang of\u00a0<em>The Washington Post<\/em>, &#8220;Quizlet&#8221; by Laura Costello of\u00a0<em>EDLAB REVIEW<\/em>, and &#8220;Kahoot App Brings Urgency of a Quiz to the Classroom&#8221; by Natasha Sanger of\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Objective: \u00a0I can complete two final bucket organizers, pro and con, for the argumentative essay by reading new AOWs and adding appropriate quotes with the authors and page numbers.
