Objective<\/strong>: \u00a0I can make inferences by reading to answer the questions in today’s CFA. \u00a0Also, I can make inferences to identify themes in “Two Friends” by reading to answer worksheet questions and consulting with my elbow partner to identify two or three of the story’s themes from the “Universal Themes” handout.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0CFA: \u00a0Students will utilize the chrome books to take today’s CFA on inferences.<\/li>\n
  2. SSR: \u00a0Students will transition from the CFA by adding inferences to their 4-Column Journal.<\/li>\n
  3. Independent Study: \u00a0Students will complete questions 11-20 for pages 104-8 in the worksheet for “Two Friends.”<\/li>\n
  4. Think Pair\/Share: \u00a0Students will identify 2-3 themes in “Two Friends” from the “Universal Themes in Literature” list with their elbow partners.<\/li>\n
  5. Reflection: \u00a0Students will write an explanation of 7 sentences or more about how “Two Friends” illustrates one of the themes selected by using two examples from the worksheet. \u00a0Use this possible topic sentence frame: \u00a0The author of “Two Friends” \u00a0develops the theme of _________________ \u00a0through Morrisot and Sauvage’s ____________________. \u00a0Think of how their actions, dialogue, or feelings can complete the sentence and choose one.<\/li>\n
  6.
