Objective<\/strong>: I can write the second draft of my essay by editing from suggested corrections by the teacher, my elbow partner, and myself. \u00a0Also, I can write a conclusion to my essay by following the steps on the handout and consulting with my neighbor.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Independent Study: \u00a0Students will rewrite the essay from beginning to end by editing \u00a0from suggested corrections by teacher, elbow partner, and themselves.<\/li>\n
  2. Independent Study: \u00a0Read quietly “Writing a Conclusion.”<\/li>\n
  3. Share Out: \u00a0What is the topic sentence? \u00a0What is it’s purpose? \u00a0What is the purpose of the middle sentences? \u00a0What is the purpose of the last sentence?<\/li>\n
  4. Turn-and-Talk: \u00a0Discuss with your elbow partner your essay’s claim and a brief summary of some of the best main points that were made in the body paragraphs.<\/li>\n
  5. Independent Study: \u00a0Write the conclusion and paper clip your complete second draft for submission.<\/li>\n
