Objective<\/strong>: \u00a0I can find the main ideas and golden lines of the “concussions” article by changing the subtitles into questions and looking for the answers in the text and underlining them.<\/p>\n

BW<\/strong>: \u00a0Review the claim statement of the “concussions” article we found on Monday(9\/25). \u00a0Reread the whole “concussions” article. \u00a0Answer this question: \u00a0Why does the article not provide a clearly-stated amount of time for watching concussions? Use evidence.<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Share Out: \u00a0Random selection of student responses.<\/li>\n
  2. Turn-and-Talk: \u00a0Share with your neighbor your goals for finding main ideas and golden lines as you review the corrections for the “exercise” article.<\/li>\n
  3. Promethean Board: \u00a0As you reread the first paragraph, ask yourself this question: \u00a0How does the writer capture my attention? \u00a0Underline this golden line(s).<\/li>\n
  4. Think Pair\/Share: \u00a0Turn the subtopic of the second chunk into “Why?” and “How?” questions. \u00a0Underline the answers and label as main ideas for “why” and “how.”<\/li>\n
  5. Share Out: \u00a0One student will share his\/her findings with the class.<\/li>\n
  6. Independent Study: \u00a0Students will find main ideas for the remainder of the chunks.<\/li>\n
  7. Honors: \u00a0Make predictions and other connections to questions while reading.<\/li>\n
  8.
