Objective: \u00a0I can identify transition sentences in two exemplars of an introduction and apply this knowledge by writing a useful transition sentence for my own introduction.<\/p>\n

BW<\/strong>: \u00a0Read the two exemplars. \u00a0List a transition sentence for each of these introductions, the quote exemplar and the anecdotal one.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Share Out: \u00a0What is the transition sentence? \u00a0What is the anecdote? \u00a0How does the quote relate to the writer’s position?<\/li>\n
  2. In groups of 4, complete one box from each of your neighbor’s edit checklists and write your name in the appropriate spot.<\/li>\n
  3. Think Pair\/Share: \u00a0Describe an anecdote that you experienced regarding gender roles.<\/li>\n
  4. Independent Study: \u00a0Begin writing your introduction by using an anecdote or a quote.<\/li>\n
  5. HW<\/strong>: \u00a0Think more about an anecdote or possible quote for your introduction, but do not write it at home. \u00a0Reminder<\/strong>: \u00a0Mr. Opferman and Mr. Sapienza are available for mentoring the argumentative essay after school. \u00a0This is the last chance before grading.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
