{"id":1833,"date":"2017-03-07T15:18:54","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T20:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/?p=1833"},"modified":"2017-03-07T15:20:38","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T20:20:38","slug":"march-7-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/2017\/03\/07\/march-7-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"March 7, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: \u00a0I can speak or write to share evidence and to build on or push against the ideas of my peers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BW<\/strong>: \u00a0View the video about Socratic Circles and identify 3 challenges and write them in the big space on your worksheet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Read the portion of the worksheet that lists &#8220;strengths&#8221; or ideal behaviors for a Socratic Circle.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Complete your list of 3 challenges.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Share Out: \u00a0At the T-Chart on the board, teacher will list challenges in the left column and enlist students to share possible supports.<\/li>\n<li>Each student will write his\/her position statement along with a reason or two atop the worksheet.<\/li>\n<li>Mentors meet coaches: \u00a0Pairs will discuss their positions\/reasons.<\/li>\n<li>Begin discussion: \u00a0Remember, it&#8217;s a conversation, not necessarily a debate.<\/li>\n<li>Halftime: \u00a0Mentor\/Coaches share questions and strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Each student will complete the portion about whether or not today&#8217;s activity affected his\/her position.<\/li>\n<li>Share Out: \u00a0Did anyone waver or even change your position? \u00a0Why or why not?<\/li>\n<li>Complete the next two steps of the worksheet by rereading the &#8220;strengths&#8221; or ideal behaviors that were checked off and assess whether or not activity was effective in a short paragraph.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reminder<\/strong>: \u00a0Mr. Sapienza is available along with Mr. Opferman for make-up work regarding Monday&#8217;s rhetorical analysis today, Thursday, and Friday after school. \u00a0Provide a heads-up if you plan to attend.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Objective: \u00a0I can speak or write to share evidence and to build on or push against the ideas of my peers.
