{"id":1710,"date":"2017-01-10T04:55:09","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T09:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/?p=1710"},"modified":"2017-01-10T07:11:36","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T12:11:36","slug":"january-10-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sapienp\/2017\/01\/10\/january-10-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"January 10, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: \u00a0I can use my definitions of tone, some poetic tools, and logos to explain &#8220;how the text says it&#8221; for Brutus&#8217;s soliloquy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BW<\/strong>: \u00a0List these definitions: tone, metaphor, simile, personification, logos, and counterargument.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Promethean Board: \u00a0As a whole class, students will identify each of the three counterargument chunks in Brutus&#8217;s soliloquy along with its corresponding argumentative tool(logos, metaphor, tone, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Think Pair\/Share: \u00a0Students will explain how Brutus suggests each counterargument in his\/her own words in the right column. \u00a0In addition, they will explain the corresponding argumentative tool used to rebut each counterargument in the right column.<\/li>\n<li>Independent Study: \u00a0Each student will write a response to Question #2(How does the text say it?) for Brutus&#8217;s soliloquy on pages 841 and 842.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reminders<\/strong>: \u00a0Come after school for the worksheets for Cassius&#8217;s appeal and an explanation of the homework. \u00a0Make-ups for the summary paragraph are after school on Wed.(1\/11) or Thurs.(1\/12) until 3 pm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Objective: \u00a0I can use my definitions of tone, some poetic tools, and logos to explain &#8220;how the text says it&#8221; for Brutus&#8217;s soliloquy.
