First Week of School

by Dana Sandakli

Welcome students to the 2020/2021 school year! This year will be a year full of changes and excitement. First and foremost, I want you to know that I’m here to support you. Things will be different this school year, and in times you feel confused or need help with anything, please reach out to me!

We will begin school this Monday, August 31. We will NOT have any live lessons the first week of school. We will begin live lessons starting September 8. More information will be shared in a further post.

For the first week of school, please access the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_1R2QUAOnZ1VHa7SNpDmBM9_rKa4bvtX_OD9WoH5f3s/edit?usp=sharing

In this link, you will see a table with different grade levels. Your job is to explore the iBlogs of the teachers for your grade level. After exploring the iBlogs, you will complete the assignment linked next to your grade level (for example, if you are in 7th grade, you will complete the 7th Grade Assignment.) Also in this link, you will see a QR code next to your teachers’ iBlog links; use your phone to scan the QR code and watch the welcome video linked to it 🙂 .

The assignment is due Wednesday, September 2 at 3:00pm. You must email the completed assignment to your first hour teacher to be graded.

If you have any questions regarding week 1 assignments, please email me and I will reply at my earliest convenience.

Summer Learning Homework ~

by Dana Sandakli

Dear students,
The district has come up with a summer learning assignment for ALL middle school students. This assignment is mandatory and will count towards your grade for the next school year. Each student will be required to complete 480 minutes (8 hours) of GRADE-LEVEL Khan Academy lessons (i.e. if you are currently a 6th grader, you need to work on 6th grade lessons).
Videos will NOT count towards the minutes. The 480 minutes need to be active work. You may begin your summer learning assignment from Monday: June 8. The due date for this assignment is September 11, 2020.
If you have any questions regarding this assignment, please reach out to me.
(If you are not sure how to access Khan Academy lessons, watch the tutorial video attached to this announcement)
