{"id":89,"date":"2019-10-25T13:01:10","date_gmt":"2019-10-25T17:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/salehd\/?p=89"},"modified":"2019-10-25T13:01:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-25T17:01:10","slug":"conclusion-of-cancer-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/salehd\/2019\/10\/25\/conclusion-of-cancer-unit\/","title":{"rendered":"Conclusion of Cancer Unit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I just wanted to share with you how proud I am of my students who completed their &#8220;Cancer\u00a0Cell Removal Tool&#8221; lab activity today!\u00a0 Because October is Breast\u00a0Cancer\u00a0Awareness month, we studied a\u00a0unit\u00a0on\u00a0cancer.\u00a0 The students used the Engineering Design Process (EDP) to help them create prototype &#8220;cancer\u00a0cell removal tools&#8221; (they were given constraints in order to help them develop their problem-solving skills).\u00a0 In their teams, they identified the problem\/need, researched it, developed possible solutions, selected the best solution, constructed a prototype, tested and evaluated the solution, communicated the results in their lab write-up, and redesigned their prototypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students truly enjoyed the activity and were very impressed with the success of their prototypes!\u00a0 We might have some Biomedical Engineers in the future! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am proud of my students for their teamwork skills and their application of the EDP!
