{"id":138,"date":"2020-02-25T11:52:44","date_gmt":"2020-02-25T16:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/salehd\/?p=138"},"modified":"2020-03-02T10:12:45","modified_gmt":"2020-03-02T15:12:45","slug":"edp-poem-rap-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/salehd\/2020\/02\/25\/edp-poem-rap-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"EDP Poem\/Rap Assignment &#8211; Extra Credit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>This week, students were given the task of writing a rhyming poem or rap that explains all eight steps of the Engineering Design Process (EDP) in order<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Engineering Design Process (EDP)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. <strong>Identify the need or problem<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to figure out what you\u2019re trying to solve\/fix)<\/em><br><em><br> <\/em>2. <strong>Research the need or problem<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to research information about the problem you\u2019re trying to solve\/fix so that you have more information and know what other people have done about the problem)<br> <br><\/em>3. <strong>Develop possible solution(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to come up with more than one idea\/plan about how to fix\/solve the problem)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>Select the best possible solution(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to choose which of your ideas\/solutions is the best one to continue with)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>Construct a prototype<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to build a model of your solution)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. <strong>Test and evaluate the solution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to test your solution and see which part of your solution\/model works and what doesn\u2019t work)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. <strong>Communicate the solution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to explain\/report about what your solution was, what happened when you tested it, and why the results turned out the way they did<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. <strong>Redesign<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(this means you need to think about how\nyou can make your solution better and what changes you would need to make to it)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong>:&nbsp;\nYou can change the wording around (BUT NOT THE STEPS) in order to\nhelp you create rhymes (example:&nbsp; instead\nof \u201cIdentify the need or problem\u201d, you can say \u201cIdentify the problem or need\u201d\u2014this\nmakes it easier to find a word that rhymes with \u201cneed\u201d as opposed to a word\nthat rhymes with \u201cproblem\u201d.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week, students were given the task of writing a rhyming poem or rap that explains all eight steps of the Engineering Design Process (EDP) in order.
