\u201cIs There a Fine Line Between Optimism and Realty?\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Optimist Club of\u00a0Dearborn<\/span>\u00a0would like to invite any\u00a0Dearborn<\/span>\u00a0student under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2018 to participate in our Optimist Oratorical contest.\u00a0 This age limit is changed from prior years.\u00a0 It used to be 18 years of age.\u00a0 Cash\u00a0prizes<\/span>\u00a0are awarded to the top three students who participate in the contest.\u00a0 This year we will be having a combined gender contest.\u00a0 This is also a change that Optimist International made this year.\u00a0 In prior years, we selected 3 top males and 3 top females.<\/div>\n

Because we are only awarding 3 students instead of 6, the\u00a0Dearborn<\/span>\u00a0Club has elected to increase the monetary award amounts.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0prize<\/span>\u00a0money to be awarded for 1st place will be $700.00, 2nd is $400.00, and 3rd place receives $250.<\/b><\/div>\n

Students should contact the assigned teachers for the official contest application<\/a> submission.\u00a0 \u00a0 The contest is February 20th, 2019<\/strong> and we will be hosting the event at the Auditorium at the\u00a0Dearborn<\/span>\u00a0Library from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.\u00a0 All students are required to submit their speech, their birth certificate and a completed contest application<\/a>.<\/div>\n
