{"id":743,"date":"2018-03-13T13:51:21","date_gmt":"2018-03-13T17:51:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/?p=743"},"modified":"2018-03-21T13:31:34","modified_gmt":"2018-03-21T17:31:34","slug":"nearpod-studentengagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/2018\/03\/13\/nearpod-studentengagement\/","title":{"rendered":"@Nearpod #studentengagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/img.clipart.guru\/engaged-student-cliparts-2443104-student-engagement-clipart-920_347.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for student engagement\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As students begin to embark on the testimonies presented in\u00a0<em>To Kill a Mockingbird<\/em>, we used Nearpod.com in lieu of doing an <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1F40GMaFi4u9_i2OmSKXq6FKBRV2TaBu6p84CwCc7bUE\/edit?usp=sharing\">article of the week<\/a> packet.\u00a0 Students were exposed to the same information, just in a different medium.\u00a0 As a result of this interactive forum, students were engaged the entire hour in what they were learning!\u00a0 Below are a few snapshots of students&#8217; testimonies about today&#8217;s learning experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>kept me engaged<\/li>\n<li>we should do this more often<\/li>\n<li>had a great time with this new method of learning<\/li>\n<li>engaging and interactive<\/li>\n<li>forces me to think quicker<\/li>\n<li>allows us to go more in depth on a topic, which helped me to understand it better<\/li>\n<li>we should do this more because it gives us the opportunity to work with technology, which will help us fit in and excel in the real world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2079\/2018\/03\/Data.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-744 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2079\/2018\/03\/Data-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2079\/2018\/03\/Data-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2079\/2018\/03\/Data-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2079\/2018\/03\/Data.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 368px) 100vw, 368px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When it came to student engagement, 78% of students polled shared that they were engaged 90 &#8211;
